GRILLED SQUID ALA PEACHY

GOOD FOR 4 PERSONS.
INGREDIENTS:
- SQUID – 5 PCs.
- OYSTER SAUCE – 2 tbsp.
- CHOPPED GARLIC- 3 cloves
- GIN – 1 tsp.
- WATER – 200ml. (or Pineapple juice, 7-up for tastier result)
- BAY LEAF – 1 PC.
- JUICE OF A LEMON – 1 PC.
- A PINCH OF GINGER POWDER
- A PINCH OF GROUNDED MIXED PEPPER SEEDS
- OLIVE OIL – 1 tbsp.
- CORN STARCH – 1 tsp.
PROCEDURE:
In a small sauce pan, heat the olive oil and saute the garlic with the bay leaf, add the water, the oyster sauce, the lemon juice, the gin, the ginger powder, the grounded mixed pepper seeds and bring to boil for 5min, dissolve the corn starch in a few water then pour in the boiling mixture, stir until desired thickness.
Heat a grilling pan or non-stick frying pan, place the squids and brush with the sauce, flip often and brush with the sauce until nice nicely grilled, transfer on a serving dish and pour the remaining sauce all over the squids.
Tip: I strongly suggest to cook over the charcoal for a tastier result.
ADOBONG PUSIT
GOOD FOR 4 PERSONS.
INGREDIENTS:
- SQUID – 500gr
- OYSTER SAUCE – 2 tbsp. (Add more if needed)
- VINEGAR – 2 tbsp.
- BROWN SUGAR – 1 tsp.
- SLICED GARLIC – 2 cloves
- SLICED ONION – ½ PC.
- BLACK PEPPER POWDER – ¼ tsp.
- SLICED GINGER – 50gr
- OLIVE OIL – 2 tbsp.
PROCEDURE:
Clean and wash squid in a running tap water.
Heat olive in a small non-stick frying pan, once hot, saute onions, garlic and ginger. Add squid, black pepper powder, brown sugar, vinegar, oyster sauce and cook for 10 minutes or until desired thickness of the sauce.
